WISHING EVERYONE A HAPPY AND SAFE JULY 4TH HOLIDAY!

I got lucky this past week and found a short yardage bolt of older Carol Endres fabric...it's not coming into the shop except in the form of fat quarters...if anyone is needing some of this for their stash, just let me know. (Remember, I'm talking short yardage...there's not much left already!) $6.50 per yard (WOW discount of course...) It's a medium size print...GREAT shade of blue...fits right in with those favorite old indygo blues...

Plus...another bolt of the civil war blue made it back in this week...so we are restocked on that!

And two new patterns came in today...just looking at them makes me want to go put on...well...at least a sweater! Both are $8 each ($7.20 for WOW girls) and I will kit these over the next couple of weeks!
The one with Santa at both ends...actually I think would make a great pillow...what do yall think?

For the girls doing Settler's Pride...the bird block has been mailed! However...I forgot to put in the picture..so it is coming in another envelope! Sorry bout that...my brain just shut down for a moment! Here is a picture of the block in case you want to see how it is suppose to lay out...I'm sending you a photo to add to your kit via mail as well!

Off to the movies later this afternoon and then out for a birthday dinner! Have a wonderful holiday weekend...Lisa

Oh Baby...it's hot outside!! (updated Friday evening)

Good night nurse it is hot outside! I'm hoping we'll get lucky like we did yesterday and get a good little rain shower to help the plants and cool us off a bit! But before it rains...we needed to snap a quick picture of this little cutie...it's coming into the shop this weekend!

It's actually a great size for a kitchen...laundry room...office/craft area...lots of good storage without taking up a ton of space. It did need a new "do"...so we painted it with the Olde Century Colors paint line...Barn Red over Buttermilk. She is an old girl...circa 1860-1880.
(And now for the technicalities of how it is constructed...)The cupboard features a pegged, mortise & tenon paneled door and early square cut nail construction throughout. It was built entirely with 1" thick pine boards with hand planing throughout. Tongue and groove construction across the back...a very stout little piece! $295.00 (SOLD - going to a new home!)

Found this cute cute old threads cabinet drawer...(who knows where the rest of the cabinet is). Actually a fairly good size...bigger than my old cabinet drawers for sure! It would be fun up in someone's sewing or craft room...maybe displaying lots of old pincushions in it?? $15.00 (SOLD)

We also took in a really nice early firkin...this one doesn't have paint..but the patina in really pretty! Missing its handle...but still looks great and would make a great stacker in a set! Approx. 13" in diameter (across the bottom)...$65.00 (picture coming if we don't sell it before I can snap one...)(SOLD)

Just got this bolt in...GREAT civil war tan-on-tan little print...goes with everything (especially that green civil war fabric that we've sold 4 bolts of already!) $7.95 a yard (wow girls...discount!)

Here are a couple of new patterns...

"Checkered Path" punchneedle pattern...cute on this old stool, don't you think! It's a rather large size for a punchneedle project...12" x 6 1/2"...$17.95 (wow price $16.00)

"Winter Birds" wool table runner. Actually, I think this is good all year! I've got an old red mule chest this would look great on (or hanging over..hmmmm...which one??)
Finished size is 12 1/2" x 42 1/2". This might be another one I kit up with that great Moda Black Prarie Cloth for the background...we'll see next week! Pattern is $8.00 ($7.20 for wow club). I'll figure the kit price and let you know soon!

Have a great weekend...come see us if you can!

OK...Here we go!! New Stuff!! (updated Friday 6/18)

This week started out hectic and it's just getting....well I hate to say worse...but I can't think of another word right now....just more hectic, I guess!!
(Friday evening...)
Back from working at the shop...when we got home, all the patterns listed below did actually arrive for this weekend! Yea! And the rusty jingle bells for the Santa kits arrived as well! Again, Yea!

We took in some great prim smalls too...a fantastic bucket bench with its original blue paint...oh my gosh, killer! $175.00. Of course, after I filled it full of stuff, you can't hardly see the shelf anymore...it does hold a lot of stuff! Plus, that bottom shelf is pretty high off the ground...so crocks will fit GREAT under it on the floor...I'll take a better picture tomorrow...this one will have to do for now...

If you collect funky kitchen stuff...we found a very cool and OLD cherry pitter...with its original blue paint as well! $150.00
A neat old whiskey keg with original old red paint (would be cute on your front porch beside an old white rocker!) $50
Some nice early baskets (one in blue paint), some great old advertising boxes...one is for Hersheys...one is for Gold Medal flour...
And one of the coolest things if you are a stitcher...from 1886, it's a Clapp and Bailey Remnant Box...at least that is what it says...it's a thread box of some sort that was for displaying whatever Clapp and Bailey sold to stores. It opens up with all these different boxes that lift out...each one is a different overall size but the height is the same. It's an old store display...and will fit a TON of either regular skeins of floss or those 3 strand valdani balls perfectly! And it doesn't take up a ton of room! Made from walnut...$85.00 (Sorry yall..just sold it and it's heading off to Arizona)
Plus a bunch of other stuff I can't remember right now...(but some of it is sitting on that bucket bench...
(OMG...I just blew that picture up of the bench...not only did I cut off the top of the picture where the little whiskey barrel is, I forgot to iron that teatowel at the bottom...better go pack my iron!)

Almost forgot...the cost on the Wool Crazy Garden kits aren't going to be near as much as I thought...price on a kit (pattern sold seperately) is $32.00 ($28 for the WOW members).

(Thursday) This new pattern arrived today (along with that bolt of green civil war fabric that I fear might be the last one I can get my hands on...). Easy and quick...not a huge size...only 10" x 20" if you do it according to the pattern. I'll kit this next week and use Moda's Black Prarie Cloth for the background! Pattern price $8.00 (WOW price $7.00).

Thank heavens for small miracles...
I have someone helping me make models for the shop...so here came Santa back today! I think he turned out great! HOWEVER...we did make a couple of changes to him...little rusty bells have been added to his belt and tree and dyed chenille was added as trim.I love the fact that he's on an old army blanket....that color made everything else "pop"! For the girls who bought a kit this weekend, and would like to do him with these changes...email me and I'll send you the extra little goodies! ALSO...because we did him a little differently, I lost some of the background spacing (totally my fault for not thinking of this) so I need to replace the background if you did buy a kit already. I'm heading to the studio to re-cut the others, so from here on, this won't be a problem! If you would like a kit to our new Folk Art Santa pattern...the pattern is $8 and the kit is $14.95 (WOW girls...you know the drill...discount!) Thank you Vicki for doing such a great job!

Let the stiching begin...thought I'd put up a picture of my "naked" Wool Crazy Garden background. For those of you ordering kits...this is what your background is planned out to be...you'll get this picture in the kit as well! (If mine looks a little weird..it's because it's a mirror image of the pattern...which I didn't realize I was doing until I was well into putting it together...so make sure you reverse your template patterns if you want it to look like the original! Mine will just have to stay "unique"! On to the next step.....

Lots of new patterns are coming, I'm hoping by this weekend. I'm crossing everything I have and I think it's going to work! I didn't order tons of any of these right off the bat...there were soooo many to choose from! If anyone wants me to hold anything...just give me a shout!

"Sparrow's Song" Three patterns for the price of two. This pattern makes a lovely cross stitch, wool penny run and punchneedle cherub...$17.95 for the pattern (WOW price $15)

"Cute as a Button" Adorable little mouse perched atop a pincushion! Pattern price $9.00 (WOW price is $8.00)

"Emory the Sewing Mouse" Now he's sitting on a strawberry pinkeep! Pattern price is $9.00 (WOW price is $8.00)

"Yuletide" Three patterns in one...a wool penny mat with primitive embroidery, a cross stitch book binding project, and a festive Santa punchneedle...$17.95 (WOW price is $15.00)

"Bluebird Serenade" Another great 3-in-1 pattern...two really pretty wool applique projects and a punchneedle cherub...$17.95 for the pattern (WOW price $15)

"Sweetheart Pinkeep" punchneedle pattern...love the heart shape of this! $12.00 for the pattern (WOW price $10.80)

"Boo-ti-ful" Bouquet" punchneedle pattern...made into a cute cute little wool penny mat! $13.95 for the pattern (WOW price $12.50)

"Home of the Brave" punchneedle pattern. Love this Uncle Sam! $13.95 for the pattern (WOW price $12.50)

"Trick or Tweet" punchneedle pattern...I know I sound like a broken record..but isn't it cool?!! $13.95/pattern (WOW price $12.50) (I just wish I could find a box of those tiny little oil cans...at a cheap price!!)

Only two more patterns to show you...we're almost done...

"Hallows Eve" punchneedle pattern...$13.95 each (WOW price $12.50)

And last but not least..."Snow Day" cool funky snowman...$13.95 each (WOW price is $12.50)

WHEW! Done with the patterns for now!!

I've got some more fabric coming in this weekend...got this yesterday...FANTASTIC shade of red..and the paisly print is more of a light tan...so this is really pretty! From the Bonnie Blue Basics line by Marcus Brothers...our price per yard is $7.95 (WOW girls get a discount...)

There's also another bolt of the green/red/cream Civil War Tribute fabric coming in...this will make the 4th bolt of this we've gotten....I feel a hording attack coming on with this one...yikes! (And you should see how it looks with that red paisley...I've got a great shirting coming and those three together will make a great trio..I'm thinking christmas stack of covered boxes!!)

If any of the WOW girls need to place an order on any of the new stuff and have it shipped...I'll do free shipping for you thru Sunday!

Everybody try and stay cool....have a fun weekend!

Hello Weekend! (updated Friday, 11th)

I'm done updating for tonight! Here's what's new this week...

Our mail lady just brought the new issue of Early American Life for the shop! This is the one with the annual Directory of Traditional American Crafters...

Articles in this issue include...Walking Sticks, an Ohio tavern reinvented, a Georgian "Practical House", Early American Lore: of ink and ire, the mid 1700's indygos produced in South Carolina, and this years directory of american craftsman, plus much more! $4.95 per issue. I'll have these on our website if you need it shipped.

Just in...another really nice civil war fabric from Wyndam's Industrial Revolution line...got a really good price on this so I'm passing that on to you as well...$6.00 per yard! I have it laid out on the table teamed with a civil war red paisly and a cream shirting...thinking very cool vintage americana box set! We'll see what happens with that! (Fabric is over on the website as well for ordering)

Have you ever needed just a sweet card to send to a friend and realized you were going to have to get in the car and go find one? I think I've got that problem solved! One of the companies that I buy things from threw a big sale on these great cards and I bought a bunch! We normally sell these in the shop for $1.95 each individually, but I'm offering these in a mixed box assortment of 12 cards for $9.95...less than $1 each. The cards are all a really nice large size...5"x7"...they all have a small message on the left hand side...but the right is all blank. (Click on that picture and it will blow them up where you can really see them!)...nice heavy linen type card stock too! I'm not putting these on the website..but I'll have them at the shop and you can always email me if you need some and can't make it in!

A nice surprise just now...these new patterns just showed up! I wasn't expecting them until next week...fresh from Quilt Market a week or so ago...never too soon to think about Christmas presents!!
This one is called "Two Prim Snowmen"...runner is 13" x 31" finished. I can think of a cute way to do a matching pillow too! Pattern price $8.00 (10% WOW discount)

"Just Stitches Christmas Redwork" pattern...the way it's pictured, the finished size is 16" x 40"...what a great runner for an old farm table! Now its done on toweling made by Moda..which they are out of until the end of June. I've got it on order and I'll let you know when we see it...pattern price $8.00 (10% WOW discount)

"Christmas Basket"...I'm thinking pillows...or shrink it down and make it into a punchneedle piece or maybe frame it like the "to-may-toe" one I did...hmmm
Pattern price $8.00 (10% WOW discount)

And finally..."Folk Art Santa"...enough said about that! $8.00 for the pattern (WOW girls get your discount!)

Just got this little model done...talk about fast and cute! Plus, I had this revelation (I think that's what I had) and I'm putting this one on top of one of my covered boxes...now how dang cute is that going to be?? I'll put up the finished results later!! Don't forget, kits are available for this...(though, if you want it exactly like mine, they are a little bit limited cuz of that funky middle piece)!
(It's a good thing I'm somewhat of a proficient stitcher..I just blew that picture up...you can see every little stitch I took! Yikes!)

Not sure if I'll get pictures up or not on these..but coming in this weekend...two early wooden staved New England sap buckets..great original crusty red paint!..$38.95 each
Beautiful early work basket...nice round larger size...with robins egg blue paint...$75.00
Blue & white star bunting...16" wide...hemmed on both edges...$6.95 per yard. (Would make great valances for a boy's room or swags for a patriotic spot! Or drape it across your porch railings and show your american spirit!)

Some more of my garage sale stuff will be going on the selling blog this next week (I've got a couple of new things on there now)...but for right now, I'm working on a model of Wool Crazy Garden and getting the kits ready for that! Cute cute cute! As soon as I can figure the price, I'll let you know!!! (UPDATE on the kits...just about done! They will run about $38 (wools and floss only...pattern extra) for everything you need and then some! I'm not making a ton, so let me know if you want one!!)

New patterns/fabric are beginning to roll in the door...

Notforgotten Farms new books...A Winter Walk and Harvest of Primitives came in today...lots of potential here! $20 per copy (WOW members..$15 each)

Also in today...a fun summer pattern..."To-May-Toe"...lots of cute and quick tomato projects all rolled up in this pattern. I'll have kits made for both of the penny mats (the round one and the framed one)first...
The pattern is $8.00 (WOW price $7.20).The Round Penny mat kit is $10 (WOW price $9.00) and the framed penny mat kit will be $8.00 (WOW price $7.00.) The one that is framed will have a hand dyed piece of Moda Prarie cloth included as the background!

Two new fabrics have come in with more on the way...

The blue is from the Gettysburg Civil War line and the small shirting is from Clothworks. Reg price is $9.50 per yard for each...our price is $7.95 (WOW members get their discount as well!) The shirting came in on a small bolt so there's not much of that...I almost kept it all for myself! You know me, I had to overdye them both...fantastic to say the least when they were done!! (If you need to order any fabric...these will be over on our website...)

Have a great weekend!
